Henry Tate

Henry Elbert Tate, 93, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2022, at his home.  Born in Spartanburg, SC, May 5, 1928, he was a son of the late Thomas Earl, Sr. and Lois Green Tate.  Mr. Tate was a member of Morningside Baptist Church, retired accountant with Reeves Brothers, and a WWII veteran of the U. S. Navy.

Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Marjorie Bishop Tate, daughters, Lynne Long (Jerry) of Powdersville, SC, and Lori McCracken (Ben) of Spartanburg, SC; a son Philip Tate (Wendy) of Travelers Rest, SC; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.  Mr. Tate was predeceased by sisters, Flora Cavin and Peggy Burgess; brother, Thomas Earl Tate, Jr.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 15, 2022, 12:15-12:45PM at Morningside Baptist Church, 897 S. Pine St., Spartanburg, SC, 29302.  Funeral services will be held following visitation. Private committal will be held at the cemetery.
