Henry Harling Sr

Henry E. Harling Sr., 79, went to be with the Lord on December 21, 2020. Born on January 15, 1941 in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Dewey Blease and Nancy Lou-King Harling. A U.S. Navy veteran, Mr. Harling served from 1958 to 1959. He was a retired truck driver. Henry attended Bethel Assembly of God Church in Valley Falls, SC. He was always willing to help the less fortunate. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Shelvy Jean Cooley Harling of the home; his son, Henry Earl Harling Jr. (Donna) of Anderson, SC, his daughter, Margaret Ann Harling Anderson Turner (Russell Adams) of Chesnee, SC; three granddaughters, Adele C. Hensley (Jeremy) of Pelham AL, April D. Anderson Wagner (Adam) of Campobello, SC, and Britt M. Taylor (Zachary) of Charlotte, NC; four great-grandchildren, Joshua Wagner, Tyler Wagner, Weldon Taylor, and Charlotte Taylor; three brothers, Daniel "Danny" Joe Harling (Rachel), David Stanley Harling, and Dewey Blease Harling Jr. (Cheryl). Along with his parents, he is pre-deceased by a brother, James Ray "Jimmy" Harling, and two sisters, Helen Margaret Owings Evans and Sarah Ann Hodge. Visitation will be 2:00 - 2:45 PM Monday, December 28, 2020 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Memorial service will be 3:00 PM at the chapel, conducted by The Rev. Tom Rushing. The family will be at the home of Jean Harling.
