Henry Bonner, Jr.

Henry C. "Jack" Bonner, Jr., 77, of Spartanburg, died Saturday, March 1, 2014, at his home. Born October 4, 1936, in Thunderbolt, GA, he was the son of the late Henry Carroll Bonner, Sr. and Nell Cooley Bonner and was the husband of the late Sandra H. Bonner. Jack was a retired building contractor, a life member of Spartan 70, and a member of Scottish Rite, Hejaz Shrine Temple, and Oak Grove Baptist Church where he was a member of the AGAPE Sunday school class. Mr. Bonner served with the Navy Reserve. Survivors include a son, Henry C. "Hank" Bonner III (Angie) of Spartanburg; daughters, Jody Patterson (Rick) of Spartanburg and Sharon Phillips (Terry) of Moore, SC; grandchildren, Richard Patterson (Amanda), Cale Bonner, Trey Phillips, Laura Emory (Clay), Jaclyn West (Hunter), Andrew Patterson, Thomas Phillips, Bonner Ross (Terry), and Dillon Bonner; great-grandsons, Henry Dean West and Noah Ross (expected in June). Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM on Monday, March 3, 2014, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel, 235 N. Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306. Graveside services, conducted by the Rev. Jason Lee and the Rev. Rufus Chaneyworth, will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
