Helen White Wilson, 77, of Moore, died Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital. Born January 15, 1935, in Hartwell, GA, she was the daughter of the late Judson M. and Marie P. White. Mrs. Wilson was a former kindergarten teacher. She started the three-year-old program at Ruth Memorial Presbyterian Church. Later, she was a substitute teacher at McCracken Junior High School for over 20 years. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, a member of the Paul Morris Sunday School Class, and the Juanita Waring Circle. Survivors include her husband, Robert L. "Bob" Wilson; daughters, Pamela Wilson Arms and husband Larry of Kingsport, TN, and Jennifer Wilson Cockerham and husband Joseph of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Kristen Arms Overbay and husband Jesse of Knoxville, TN, Stephanie Arms Cox and husband Mitchell of Kingsport, TN, Heather Anne Arms of Kingsport, TN, Jake Luther Cockerham and Logan Henry Cockerham, both of Raleigh, NC; brothers, Billy Ray White and wife Linda, and Monroe Judson White and wife Wanda, all of Anderson, SC. She was predeceased by a daughter, Donna Leigh Wilson; and a brother, Charles H. White. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, March 22, 2012, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, March 23, 2012, at Trinity United Methodist Church, by the Rev. Dr. A. Stephen Holler, the Rev. Heather Humphries, and the Rev. A. Mickey Fisher. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Honorary escort will be members of the Paul Morris Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 626 Norwood Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302; or the American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone Way, Greenville, SC 29615. The family wishes to express gratitude to the staff of Tower 3 for their loving care and support during Mrs. Wilson's stay at Mary Black Memorial Hospital. The family is at the home.
