Helen Walls

Helen Godfrey Walls, 89, of Spartanburg, SC died Monday, March 15, 2021 at her home. Born December 7, 1931 in Old Fort, NC she was the daughter of the late Herbert Godfrey and Elsie Lavender Godfrey. She was the dedicated wife of the late Bobby L. Walls for 64 wonderful years. A member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church for over 60 years, Helen was a member of the choir and loved teaching the 5 year old Sunday School class for over 30 plus years. Helen enjoyed gardening, was an avid reader, and most of all being "Mimi" to the joys of her life, her four grandsons. Helen is rejoicing since she is reunited with the love of her life, Bobby. She was the loving mother of daughters, Teresa Walls Johnson (Richard) of Lexington, SC and Jan Walls Shropshier (Thomas) of Duncan, SC; grandsons, Lee and Kent Johnson, Justin and Logan Shropshier; siblings, Kenneth Godfrey of Mayo, SC, Charles Godfrey (Doris) of Spartanburg, SC and Jacqueline Godfrey Lowe (Leon) of Chesnee, SC, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by siblings, Thermal Godfrey and Cecil Godfrey (Joann). Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Poplar Springs Baptist Church, 790 Hwy 417, Moore, SC 29369, conducted by The Rev. Dr. Dale Roach and The Rev. Jarrett McNeely.
