Helen Rogers

Helen Dickson Rogers, 90, formerly of Spartanburg, SC, died Friday, December 24, 2021. Born April 28, 1931 in Gaffney, SC, she was the daughter of the late P.H. and Sarah Dickson and the wife of the late Dennis “Dood” Gene Rogers, Sr.

Helen was a graduate of Spartanburg General Hospital Nursing Program. She received her Bachelor of Art from Limestone College. Helen taught at Swofford Vocational School and was retired from the SC Department of Corrections Work Release Program. She was a member of First Baptist Spartanburg.

Survivors include her son, Gene Rogers (Kathy) of Rock Hill, SC, her daughter, Julie Rogers of Rock Hill, SC, granddaughters, Sarah Sanchez (David) of York, SC, Hannah Rogers of Spartanburg, grandson, Gavin Tyler of York, SC, and her sister, Joyce Cash of Spartanburg, SC. She was also predeceased by a daughter, Terri Rogers, and her brothers, Roy Dickson and Paul Dickson.

Visitation will be 2:00 – 4:00 PM Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. A private Graveside service will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be to Mobile Meals Service, P.O. Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
