Helen Ritter

Beloved mother and Mamaw, Helen Gibson Ritter, 96, of Spartanburg, SC, peacefully and joyfully united with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in His heavenly home on Wednesday, February 26, 2014. Her daughter and a close friend were by her side. Born February 15, 1918, in Union, SC, she was the daughter of the late William Harold Gibson, Jr. and Lula Jane Davis Gibson, and widow of Robert James "Jimmie" Ritter, Sr. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. Surviving are her children, Robert J. Ritter, Jr. (Linda S.) of Memphis, TN, William G. Ritter (Pamela M.) of Anderson, SC, and Jeannie Ritter Clark (Walter T. Clark III) of Cumming, GA; six grandchildren, Leigh Ann Whalen of Apopka, FL, Rachel Erkmann of Boise, ID, Valerie Harvey and Hannah Clark, both of Atlanta, GA, Taylor Clark of Valdosta, GA, and William G. Ritter, Jr. of Anderson, SC; and 10 great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, March 1, 2014, in Fort Prince Memorial Gardens, 125 Fort Prince Rd., Wellford, SC 29385, by the Rev. Robert H. Brozina.
