Helen Bryce Thompson Lambert, 76, of Spartanburg, SC, died Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at her home. Born December 18, 1937, in Salisbury, NC, she was the daughter of the late Francis Eugene Thompson Jr. and Helen Bryce Feamster Thompson and widow of Lawrence Gilbert "LG" Lambert. Mrs. Lambert was employed for many years with the Department of Social Services and later for Rutledge College. She was a member of The Episcopal Church of the Advent, a volunteer with Mobile Meals, an avid bowler, and lover of animals, large and small. Surviving is her daughter, Laura Lambert Fowler and son-in-law, Travis Fowler of Spartanburg; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Margretta Thompson Roueche and husband Robert C. Roueche; and extended family, Pat Bryson, Chris Maynard, and Sherry Cannon. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Francis Eugene Thompson III. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 5, 2014, at The Episcopal Church of the Advent, 141 Advent St., Spartanburg, SC 29302, by the Rev. J. Edward Morris and the Rev. Stephen Y. McGehee. The family will receive friends in the Parish and Community Life Center following the service. Burial will be at a later date in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, 1134 S. Main St., Salisbury, NC 28144. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Human Society, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family is at the home of Laura Fowler.
