Helen Hunter

Helen Petty Hunter, 89, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at Peachtree Centre-Gaffney, SC. Born April 29, 1927, in Whitestone, SC, she was the daughter of the late Eula Ernest and Altie Lee Minton Petty and widow of John Bradley Hunter. Mrs. Hunter was a member of Ben Avon United Methodist Church and retired from Jack Rabbit Photo Finishing-Spartanburg. Survivors include her daughter, Linda Chadwick Gretten of Gaffney, SC; two grandchildren, Angela Young Terry (Mark) and Bradley Clark Young (Olivia); four great-grandchildren, Traice Terry, Bryson Terry, Dillon Young, and Talley Young; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Larry Monte Chadwick; and great-grandson, John Clark Young. Visitation will be 10:00-10:45 AM Thursday, December 15, 2016, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Jonesy Brewer. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ben Avon United Methodist Church, 2360 Avondale Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
