Helen Hines

Helen Louise Hines, 84, of 141 Anita Drive, formerly of 102 Maxine Street, died Sunday, January 3, 2010 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born April 10, 1925 in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late M. Broadus Hines, Sr. and Leona McCarter Hines. Prior to her retirement, she worked at Hope Reed and then Nancy Fashions. Mrs. Hines was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include a daughter, Jo Sosbee and husband Harold of Spartanburg; a sister-in-law, Janette Hines; a number of nieces and nephews; and her beloved pets, Betsy and Miss Kitty. She was predeceased by three brothers, Albert, Manley, and James Hines; and three sisters, Frances McAbee, Ruth Wood, and Emily Bulman. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Visitation will be 5:00-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Kirk H. Neely. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family is at the home of her daughter, Jo Sosbee, 141 Anita Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
