Helen Hill

Helen Frances Gaye Hill, 100, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at Alpha Health & Rehab, Greer, SC. Born December 20, 1914, in Montgomery, WVA, she was the daughter of the late Walter Dick and Blanche Gaye, and widow of Melvin Christopher Hill. Mrs. Hill was a member of Southside Baptist Church and retired from JC Penney after 10 years of service. Surviving are her children, JoAnn Dove of Traverse City, MI and Roger Hill (Carolyn) of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Phillip Dove of Jacksonville, FL, Beth Wasson (Don) of Traverse City, MI, and Michael Hill (Paige) of Chowchilla, CA; step-grandchildren, Ronnie Turner (Angie) of Lyman, SC, Cynthia Turner of Stone Station, SC and Gary Turner (Tracy) of Gaffney, SC; and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by three brothers; two sisters; daughter-in-law, Beckie Kinder Hill; and son-in-law, Rev. Donald Dove. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, March 13, 2015, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. Dr. Schuyler Peterson. Visitation will follow the services. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
