Helen Elizabeth Fine Hand, 92, of Boiling Springs, died Monday, May 18, 2009, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born January 3, 1917, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late George Blain and Ollie Elizabeth Taylor Fine. She was retired from Spartan Mills after 48 years of service. She was formerly a member of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church and currently a member of Central United Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Ballenger Dixon of Boiling Springs; a son, Marvin O. Sanders, Jr. and his wife Janice of Spartanburg; a grandson, Mark Sanders; six granddaughters, Rita Rollins and her husband Chuck, Rhonda McSwain, Cheryl Witherspoon and her husband Taylor, Kim Smith and her husband Dallas, Amy Fowler and her husband Jerry, and Terry Sanders; two great-granddaughters, Jillane Layton and her husband Tommy, and Heather Dromm and her husband Terrance; seven great-grandsons, Shannon Hill and his wife Sarah, Eric Dixon, Robbie Witherspoon and his wife Cindy, Joshua Shawley, Grant Sanders, Matthew Fowler, and Mark Fowler; and three great-great-grandsons, Alex Dromm, Gabe Dromm, and Kenton Jefferson Hill. She was predeceased by a grandson, Matt Sanders; a son-in-law, Ken Dixon; five brothers and their wives, George Franklin Fine and Lois Fowler Fine, Bill William Hobert Fine and Rose William Fine, Joseph Grover Fine and Margaret Hughes Fine, Raymond Defoy Fine and Ida Mabry Fine, and Lester Fine and his wife Margie Green Fine; and two sisters and their husbands, Viola Victoria Fine Hart and Leigh Hart, Lucille Fine Cantrell and Wilbert Cantrell. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 21, 2009, at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel conducted by the Rev. Luther H. Rickenbaker III and the Rev. C. Allen Senn. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bruce Cantrell, Andy Cantrell, Steve Cantrell, Mark Cantrell, Mark Sanders, and Trey Elliott.
