Helen Eubanks

Helen Seay Eubanks, 79, of Spartanburg, died Saturday, September 3, 2011 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born July 18, 1932 in Pacolet, she was the daughter of the late Felix Owen and Lena Odell Allen Seay and wife of the late Jack D. Eubanks. Helen was a graduate of Spartanburg General School of Nursing and was a retired plant nurse at Arkwright and Cateswood Mills. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church where she was a member of the Mary Kate Morgan Sunday School class. Survivors include a daughter, Denise Birchfield of Boiling Springs; son Douglas O. Eubanks and wife Martha of Spartanburg; eight grandchildren, Nicole Blofield, Katie Eubanks, Sarah Corn, Alex and Paige Birchfield, Jackson, Gracie, and Brady Eubanks; one great-grandchild, Sadie Bree Blofield; and one brother, Gene Seay of Kinston, NC. She was predeceased by a son, Jackie L. Eubanks and a sister, Doris Richey. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Monday, September 5, 2011 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at Eastside Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Mike Royal and the Rev. Gerald Burnett. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eastside Baptist Church Life Fund, 1850 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
