Helen Henderson Bennett died on October 20, 2024, at 59 years old at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. She was born on June 29, 1965, in Chester, South Carolina. She was the daughter of Mildred Henderson and the late David Henderson.
Helen was a caretaker through and through. Helen's servant-like heart was fulfilled when she could do for others. Her favorite way to care for others was through food. She loved to cook meals for others and was best known for her delicious macaroni and cheese as well as her guilt-worthy platters of homemade candies and goodies at Christmas time.
She loved spending time in the mountains. She was most at peace when she could spend time in the mountains as the leaves start to turn over to the colors of fall and the wind gets a little more crisp. On Saturdays in the fall, you could also catch her cheering on the Carolina Gamecocks.
Helen spent most of her life in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She has built her family in Spartanburg for nearly 30 years. She leaves behind her mother, Mildred Henderson as well as her daughter, Jordan Bennett and new son-in-love, Caleb Haynes. Remaining surviving family includes many cousins.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Bennett, son, Hank Bennett and father, David Henderson.
Her life will be celebrated on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Fairview Baptist Church-Landrum at 2:00 pm. Family will receive loved ones from 1:00-1:45 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you send donations to Fairview Baptist Church-Landrum or to Sharing Hope SC.
Floyd’s Boiling Springs Chapel is serving the family.
