Helen Bailey

Helen Cannady Bailey of Spartanburg, SC, loving wife, mother and grandmother departed this life on Thursday, February 8, 2018, at the age of 95. Helen was born June 9, 1922 in Moore, SC fourth of six children to Glenn Cannady and Margaret Harrington Cannady. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, John V. Bailey; and a daughter, Patricia B. Trammell. She was a lifetime member of Central Church of Christ. With true southern charm she was dedicated to the care of family and friends with open arms and heart. Left to cherish those memories are daughters, Brenda Hughes (Jim) and Susan Fitzgerald; grandchildren, Candace Thornton (Phillip), Mark Hughes, Kimberly McKinney (Ben), Jennifer Cothran (Lee), all of Spartanburg, SC, Kennedy Fitzgerald and Lisa Fitzgerald of Charleston, SC; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be 1:30-2:30 PM Saturday, February 10, 2018, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 PM in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, with Mr. Ernie Thigpen officiating.
