Helen Alexander

Helen Elizabeth Ward Alexander, 94, of Jonesville, SC, died Thursday, October 27, 2016, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born August 19, 1922, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Claude W. and Alta Walden Petty Ward and widow of Fred Albert Alexander. Mrs. Alexander was a member of Skylyn United Methodist Church and owner/operator of The Country Outlet. Survivors include her daughters and their husbands, Dora Alexander Brown (Gordon Ponder) of Candler, NC and Rachel Alexander Teague (Oren Duncan) of Jonesville, SC; grandchildren, Sidney Brown (Brandy) of Newnan, GA, Patrick Brown (Allison) of Columbia, SC, and Elizabeth Teague of Spartanburg, SC; five great-grandchildren; and brother, Clyde Ward of Spartanburg, SC. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a grandson, Bryan Teague; and sisters, Eva Shelton, Annie Mae Skinner, Elise Ward, Sara Cannon, and Nancy Geraldine Wilkes; and brother, Albert Ward. Visitation will be 2:00-3:00 PM Monday, October 31, 2016, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A graveside service will follow at 3:30 PM in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by the Rev. Barry L. Brown.
