Hazel Caldwell

Hazel Mahaffey Caldwell, 85, of Arcadia, died Wednesday, October 27, 2010, at her home. Born July 25, 1925 in Fingerville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Claude Lee and Cora Matthews Mahaffey. She was a homemaker and a member of Grace Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Ralph Floyd Caldwell; a daughter, Vickie Ketner of Arcadia; a son Ricky Caldwell and wife Merri of Roebuck; three grandsons, Byron Caldwell and wife Tonya of Boiling Springs, Darren Caldwell of Bristol, TN, and Kyle Caldwell of Roebuck; two great-granddaughters, Shay Reynolds and Emily Caldwell of Boiling Springs; and a nephew, Randy B. Ferguson of Gaffney. She was predeceased by a sister, Gladys Ferguson and a brother, Ralph Mahaffey. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Good Shepherd Memorial park, conducted by Pastor Manning Strickland. The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church, 821 Whitlock Street, Spartanburg, SC 29301. The family is at the home of her son, Ricky Caldwell, 140 Becknell Drive, Roebuck, SC 29376.
