Harry L. "Buddy" Taylor, 65, passed away Thursday March 1, 2012 at Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills in Landrum, SC, with Alzheimer's disease. Born July 10, 1946, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Harry and Elsa Taylor. Buddy served in the National Guard, graduated from Wofford College, and was a past president of the Spartanburg Jaycees. He was a real estate broker and appraiser, loving husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Marlu Taylor of the home; a daughter Kylene Taylor of Spartanburg; a son by marriage, Kris Kuykendall, daughter-in-law, Amber Durham, and grandson, Isaac, all of Hickory, NC. Also surviving are a sister and brother-in-law, Pam and Richard Thompson of Spartanburg; two nieces, Angela Fowler and Kelly Sill of Spartanburg, and their families. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, March 5, 2012, at Hatcher Gardens and Woodland Preserve in the Garden of Hope and Healing, 820 John B. White Sr. Blvd., Spartanburg, SC, with the Rev. Gareth Scott officiating. The family honorably requests, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 901 S. Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302, or online at www.Alz.org/SC. Contributions will be used for research and support of others battling this debilitating disease.
