Harry Mckinney

Harry Orville McKinney, 96, of Spartanburg, SC, passed peacefully Friday, late evening, March 6, 2015 at Valley Falls Terrace Nursing Home. Born September 28, 1918 in Griggsville, IL, he was the son of the late Thomas A. and Myrtle Whalen McKinney. Mr. McKinney was a 1936 graduate of Perry High School in Perry, IL, and was an engineer with Lock Heed Martin and McDonnell Douglas. He lived in Baltimore, MD and St. Louis, MO, before moving to Spartanburg, SC. He is survived by his loving wife, Chrystal Buckner McKinney; daughter-in-law, Katherine Stump McKinney; granddaughters, Jessica McKinney Rohe and her husband Christopher Rohe, Alice McKinney Christopher and her husband Matthew Christopher, and great-granddaughters, Megan and Marie Christopher. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Whalen McKinney, five brothers, William "Bill", Paul, Neil, John, and Thomas "Pat" McKinney, and one sister, Ivah Stanley. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307 with burial in Sunset Memorial Park, 1955 Cannons Campground Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
