Harry Latham Gable, 75, husband of Ann Gable, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2024, at his home.

Born December 21,1949 in Spartanburg, SC, Harry was the son of the late L.E. Gable and Jimmie Alman Gable. He was raised in Roebuck, SC and was a graduate of Dorman High School, class of 1968. Harry graduated from Wofford College with a B.S. degree in Biology, and received a Master’s Degree and Educational Specialist Degree from the University of South Carolina – Spartanburg. Harry was a lifelong educator, teaching at Spartanburg District Two, Roebuck Junior High School, and Dorman High School where he retired as assistant principal.

Harry was a certified Basic Pistol Instructor and Range Safety Officer through the National Rifle Association and an active member and former president of the Spartanburg Gun Club. He was a True Blue Cavalier, loved Spartanburg School District Six and cheering on Dorman High – as well as the Carolina Gamecocks. He was a certified master gardener through the Clemson Extension and enjoyed all things garden and flowers.

He never turned down a garden-fresh tomato or his own creation “tomato poppers”, a slice of red velvet cake, or The Beacon. Always up for trying new things, Harry recently became interested in hot tea and yoga. He loved spending time with his friends and family, and always made sure to get the group family photo at each get together.

Harry is survived by his wife of 43 years, Ann; sons, Brikton McCutcheon (Laura) of Boiling Springs, SC, and Levi Gable (Ashley) of Duncan, SC; and six grandchildren, Cody Richardson (30), Julia Fricks (23), Abigail Fricks (21), Grayson Gable (8), Elliot Gable (6), and Lillian Gable (2).
