Harry Johnson Crow, 96, of Spartanburg, died Monday, April 4, 2011, at Skylyn Place. Born November 12, 1914, in Fairforest, he was the son of the late Edgar Eron and Emily Johnson Crow. Mr. Crow was the former owner/operator of Smith Drug Store #1. He was a former member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg, and a member of Morningside Baptist Church. He was a 60-year member of Spartanburg Lions Club, a past-board member of J.M. Smith Corp., and a past-president of the Piedmont Pharmaceutical Association. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army Medical Corps during World War II, attended Wofford College, and was a graduate of MUSC School of Pharmacy. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Edna Earle Coggins Crow; two sons, Harry Johnson "Hal" Crow, Jr. of McClellanville, SC, and Wade Coggins Crow and wife Shelley of Spartanburg; a daughter, Helen Crow Wells and husband Dr. Kenneth; six grandchildren, Emily Crow Neely and husband Kam; W. Hampton Crow; Jean Crow Crowther and husband Joe; Harry Foster Crow; Logan Wells Smith and husband Josh; and Laura Elizabeth Wells; two great-grandchildren, Kirk Foster Neely and Wade Cooper Neely; and a sister, Virle Crow Payne of Blacksburg, VA. Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 PM Thursday, April 7, 2011, in the Welcome Center at Morningside Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2:30 PM in the church, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Kirk H. Neely. Burial will be in Nazareth Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Pallbearers are Harry Foster Crow, Kam Neely, Curtis Hart, Josh Smith, Michael Sykes, Joe Crowther, Jimmy Crow, Hamp Crow, and Marc Crow.
