Harriette Poore

Harriette Gentry Poore, 81, of Spartanburg, SC, died Saturday, December 26, 2015 at her home. Born June 2, 1934, in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of the late David Clifford and Bertha Mackey Gentry and widow of George "Big Dad" Poore. Harriette was a homemaker and a member of Westgate Baptist Church. Survivors include daughters, Kimberly Poore of Greenville, SC; Kathryn Bethea (Rev. Bill) of Spartanburg, SC; Mary Lynn Van Gelderen (Rev. John) of Manchester, MI; Noele Neidig (Daniel) of Plymouth, IN; grandsons, Will, Jonathan, Hudson, and John Jr.; granddaughters, Katelyn and Lauren; great grandson, Rowan Boyce; great granddaughter, Savannah; brother, David Gentry of NM; and sister, Josephine Clapp of TX. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Ronnie Gentry and Richard Gentry. Private family gathering will be held in Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Westgate Baptist Church, 1990 Old Reidville Road, Spartanburg, SC 29301.
