Harold Upton

Carl Harold Upton, 73, of 3773 Highway 150, Pacolet, died Saturday, February 16, 2013, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center. Born June 27, 1939, in Spartanburg, he was a son of the late Leon and Annie Fowler Upton. He was retired from Kirkland Mechanical, was of the Baptist faith, and was a veteran of the U. S. Army, having served in the 82nd Airborne Division. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Georgie Rogers Upton; a daughter, Lisa Upton; granddaughter, Natasha Estes; and great-grandchildren, Georgia and Cullen Estes, all of Greenville, SC; sister, Ann Maxwell of Lufkin, TX; brothers, C. W. Upton of Gaffney and Levant Upton of Pacolet; many nieces and nephews; and Renee and Jaylen Alexander, who are special to the family. He was predeceased by a sister, Betty Lou Pressley, and two brothers, Wofford and Thomas Upton. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Norman Gardner. Burial will be in the Pacolet First Baptist Church Cemetery. The family is at the home.
