Harold Millwood

Harold Dean "Bud" Millwood, 78, of Spartanburg, SC, died Thursday, April 9, 2015, at his home. Born January 8, 1937, in Glendale, SC, he was the son of the late Ben Tillman Millwood and Mamie Holloway Millwood. A U. S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War, Bud retired from Kohler with over 40 years of service. He was a lifetime member of Whitney Masonic Lodge #264 and a member of Stone Station Baptist Church. Bud had many good friends and neighbors whom he loved. He enjoyed sharing the results of his gardening and loved to dance. Survivors include his beloved wife of over 50 years, Nancy Jones Millwood; sons, Derrell Millwood of Pauline, SC and Kenneth Millwood of Mocksville, NC; grandchildren, Kendra, Laura, Wesley, Marion, and Chandler, all of Winston Salem, NC, Nancy Ann of Inman, SC, Justin and Jessica, both of Pauline, SC; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Frank Millwood of Azle, TX; and sister, Lorene Willis of Orangeburg, SC. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Benny Dean Millwood. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, April 12, 2015, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. Ronnie Blackwell, Chaplain Laura Jones, and the Rev. Mills McHam. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Visitation will follow the committal. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 260 Fairwinds Road, Landrum, SC 29356. The family expresses sincere appreciation to the staff of Hospice of the Carolina Foothills for their care and compassion. Special thanks is also extended to caregiver, Miss Pearl Sims.
