Harold Lazenby

Harold David Lazenby, 87, of Spartanburg, SC died Sunday, May 8, 2022 at Physical Rehab and Wellness of Spartanburg. Born January 28, 1935 in Asheville, NC.  David was the son of the late Harold Lawrence and Katherine West Lazenby.

David was a graduate of the 1954 Class of Lee Edwards High School in Asheville, NC and attended University of North Carolina. He was retired from Sears Roebuck after 44 years of service and was a spokesman for Sears to the local newspaper.

A member of Southside Baptist Church, the Hejaz Shriners and was a NASCAR enthusiast.

David was a former Commissioner on The Beautification Commission for the City of Spartanburg.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Elizabeth M. Lazenby of the home, his sisters, Jennie Cook Padgett and Nancy Eaker, nieces, Lisa Robinson Shehan (Rick), Lynn Secrest (Ned), and Janice Higginbotham (Charlie), and his nephew, Greg Marable (Tammy); great nieces and nephews, Katherine Shehan, Edward Shenan, Christoper Secrest, Ashley Snellgrove, Brad Hall, and Austin Marable.

A Graveside service will be 2:00 pm Thursday, May 12, 2022 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by The Rev. Dr. Schuyler Peterson. Visitation will be at the graveside.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church, 316 S. Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306.
