Harold Kunda

Harold Dean Kunda, 73, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2015, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born July 16, 1941, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Ernest Leroy Kunda and Clara Belle Kunda, and husband of 53 years to Judy Caldwell Kunda who survives him. Harold was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and former member of Beaumont Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School teacher and Chairman of Deacons. A U. S. Navy veteran, he worked for the U. S. Postal Service for 26 years and retired as Postmaster of the Piedmont, SC Post Office. He was also a member of Mill Village Lodge 360, having served as past master and past secretary, and was a Gideon. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Dean Kunda and wife Fran and Mark Kunda; daughter, Suzanne Kunda Blevins and husband Eric; and grandchildren, Ashlyn, Derek and Ryan Kunda, Josh McCarley, and Jacob Blevins. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at Fairview Baptist Church, 1551 Bryant Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29303, by the Rev. John Cox, the Rev. Rupert Guest, and the Rev. Ty Childers. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
