Harold Arthur

Harold Dean Arthur, 83, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born June 10, 1934, at Cannon's Camp Ground, SC, he was the son of the late Wallace Wood Arthur and Annie Cannon Arthur and husband of the late Hazel Matthews Arthur. Mr. Arthur was a member of Cannon's Camp Ground United Methodist Church, a Mason, Shriner, and a member of the Federation of the Blind. Survivors include his daughter, Margaret Thornton of Spartanburg, SC; granddaughter, Rachel Thornton of Ackworth, GA; and sister, Lillie Arthur Eaker of Spartanburg, SC. In addition to his parent's and wife, he was predeceased by four brothers, Jack, Don, Ben, and Edward Arthur. Visitation will be 10:00-10:45 AM Saturday, December 9, 2017, at Cannon's Camp Ground United Methodist Church, 3450 Cannons Campground Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, with funeral services following at 11:00 AM, conducted by The Rev. David Ervin and The Rev. Joe Blackwelder. Burial will be in Cannon's Camp Ground United Methodist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Spartanburg Blood Connection, 270 North Grove Medical Park Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family is at their respective homes.
