Harley Hill

Harley Franklin Hill, 88, of Cowpens, SC, husband of Doris A. Price Hill for 24 years, died Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at his home. A native of Spartanburg County, SC, born February 15, 1928, he was the son of the late Mitchell King and Adella Laughter Hill. A graduate of Cecil's Business College and a U. S. Marine Corps veteran, Mr. Hill was a member of Casey Creek Baptist Church and retired from Ryder Truck Lines. He had a love for dirt track racing as a successful car owner of the 27. In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Mike Hill (Phyllis) of Ronda, NC, Allen Hill (Becky) of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Shane Hill of Ronda, NC, Stephanie Hill of New York, NY, and Jada H. Tessnier (Danny) of Roebuck, SC; great-grandson, Allen Gaines Tessnier; stepchildren, Becky McKelvey (Toby) and Terry Hardin of Chesnee, SC; step-grandchildren, Chrissy McKelvey, Adam McKelvey (Erika), TJ Hardin, Loranda Del-toro (Adam), and Hunter Hardin, all of Chesnee, SC; and step-great-grandchildren, Zeke Blackwell, Cheynee Del-toro, Alyssa Del-toro, and Titus Del-toro. He was predeceased by brothers and sisters, W. D. Hill, Melvin Hill, Inah Hill Jones, and Leona Hill Jones. Visitation will be 1:00-2:45 PM Friday, September 2, 2016, at Casey Creek Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM, at the church, conducted by the Rev. Todd Lyda and the Rev. Gary Adkins. Burial, with military rites, will be in Good Shepherd Memorial Park, 4164 Boiling Springs Rd., Boiling Springs, SC 29316. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Casey Creek Baptist Church, 1199 Casey Creek Rd., Chesnee, SC 29323. The family is at the home.
