Harbin Dawsey Goudelock, 95, formerly of Langdon Avenue, died Tuesday, November 2, 2010 in Charleston. Born May 9, 1915 in Pacolet, he was the son of the late Arthur Lenox and Naomi Whitlock Goudelock. Mr. Goudelock served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After returning from active duty, Dawsey served in Civil Service as an air-craft mechanic. He first worked at Donaldson Air Base, then moved to Savannah, GA and finally to Charleston Air Base, from which he retired. An accomplished pianist, he was a virtuoso in all music styles except classic and played until his death. Dawsey is survived by one sister, Annie Lee Adams of Guilford; CT and a large number of nieces and nephews. He was especially fond of his niece, Kathryn Lynn Carter whom he helped raise. He was predeceased by three sisters, Bennie G. Cash, Laura Rodgers, and Mary Louise Goudelock; and a brother John C. Goudelock. Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, November 14, 2010 in White Rose Cemetery, conducted by Pastor Mike Royal. Visitation will follow after the service.
