H. Price, Jr.

H. L. "Buddy" Price Jr., 77, of Spartanburg, SC, died peacefully on Monday, February 24, 2014, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born December 8, 1936, in Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Howard Lee Price Sr. and Margaret Nettles Price. Mr. Price was formerly employed with Milliken & Co. and after 33 years of service at Inman Mills he retired as Vice President of Engineering. A graduate of Spartanburg High School Class of 1955, he received a Bachelor of Science Degree from USC in 1961. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg. An avid golfer, he had numerous titles and was club champion at Spartanburg County Club and Lanier Golf Course. He was also the Spartanburg County Champion. Surviving is his beloved wife of 56 years, Patricia "Patsy" Dodd Price; daughter, Ashley Price Brazzel of metro Atlanta, GA; son, Gary Howard Price of Atlanta, GA; two grandchildren who were the apple of his eye, Price Allen Brazzel and Claire Wood Brazzel, both of metro Atlanta; and loyal companion of 13 years, his Golden Retriever, Sparky. Visitation will be 1:00-2:45 PM Friday, February 28, 2014, in the Parlor at First Baptist Church of Spartanburg, 250 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 3:00 PM, in First Baptist Church, Davis Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Donald J. Wilton and the Rev. Bob Neely. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
