Gwendolyn Page

Gwendolyn Smith Page, 92, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2017, at White Oak Estates-Spartanburg. A native of Spartanburg County, born June 30, 1925, in Roebuck, SC, she was the daughter of the late Walter S. and Lois Haynes Smith. She was married for 59 years to James Crawford Page who predeceased her in 2006. A graduate of Roebuck High School and Robinson's Business College, Mrs. Page was formerly employed with A. E. Staley Company. She was a lifelong member of Southside Baptist Church in Spartanburg and secretary-treasurer of the Mary Ruth Cox Circle. She was a loving mother and grandmother and had many friends. Survivors include her son, James F. Page and daughter-in-law, Vicky G. Page of Duncan, SC; granddaughter, Ashley Knight Page of Charlotte, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by siblings, Marvin L. Smith, Virginia Smith Abrams Stone, Mattie Lois Smith Sapp, Elizabeth Smith Gossett, and Gerald W. Smith. Visitation will be 1:30-2:15 PM Sunday, November 12, 2017, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 2:30 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by The Rev. Dr. Schuyler Peterson. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. The family would like to thank the staffs of the Presbyterian Home, Columbia, SC and White Oak Estates, Spartanburg, SC for all their caring attention in recent years.
