Graham Thomas

Graham "Sonny" Julius Thomas, 75, of Lyman, SC, died Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born August 13, 1941, in Blackstone, VA, he was the son of the late Newby Graham Thomas and Ruby Morris Thomas Renn. Mr. Thomas retired from Lockwood Greene Engineers after 42 years of service. He was a member of Fernwood Baptist Church serving as a Deacon and audio engineer. He also served as Building & Grounds Committee Chair and held various other committee positions. He was a member of the Men's Fellowship Class. He enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing at the coast, and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Carol McGlamery Thomas; children, Jamie Thomas (Libba) of Pauline, SC, Daryle Thomas (Crista) of Lyman, SC, and Amy Landis (Jeff) of Concord, NC; grandchildren, Storey, Connor, Austin, Zane, Thomas, and Foster; and his pet grand-dog, Coco. Visitation will be 6:30-8:30 PM Thursday, March 9, 2017, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, March 10, 2017, at Fernwood Baptist Church, by the Rev. Dean Allen and the Rev. Randy Wright. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fernwood Baptist Church Building Fund, 200 Fernwood Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29307. The family is at the home of Carol Thomas.
