Grady Towery

Grady Furman Towery, 100, of White Oaks Assisted Living, 400 Webber Road, Spartanburg, SC, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2014. He was preceded in death by his wife of 77 years, Gladys N. Coats Towery, son, Bobby G. Towery and brother, Ernest Towery. Grady was the son of G. C. and Bessie Bumgardner Towery. Mr. Towery was a member and Elder of the Second Presbyterian Church of Spartanburg, SC, a Master Mason and past president of Spartanburg Shrine Club. He retired from Pilot Life Insurance Company with thirty-five years of service. His surviving family members are two sons and daughter-in-laws, Gary and Dottie Towery, Kenneth Wayne and Ann Towery; five grandchildren, Michael W. Towery, Lisa A. Towery Collins, D. Scott Towery, Russell C. Towery and Kathy Towery Hawkins; ten great-grandchildren, Letesha Leigh Towery, Rebecca Lynn Hutchins, Michael Grady Towery, Elizabeth Ann Collins, Hannah Grace Collins, Jacob Towery Collins, Savanah Ella Towery, Cooper Lowe Towery, Tina Kimbrell and Jason Neely; and six great-great-grandchildren, Luke Hutchins, Brianna Hutchins, Lawton Neely, Olin Neely, Jordan Kimbrell and Katlynn Kimbrell. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 PM on Saturday, November 29, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307 with services following at 3:00 PM in the Chapel conducted by Rev. Steven Rhodes. A private interment with the family will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Second Presbyterian Church, 438 N.
