Grady Moore

Grady Franklin Moore, 76, of Inman, died Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born November 27, 1937, in Polk County, NC, he was the son of the late Frank James and Bertie Lee Blanton Moore. He attended Spartanburg Technical College, served with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Ticonderoga, was an employee of Hoechst-Celanese for 46 years, and was a lifetime member of Lone Oak Masonic Lodge #372. Mr. Moore was an avid tournament fisherman and attended Green Creek Baptist Church. He was a quiet, yet determined man who deeply loved and cherished his family. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Sue Ransom Moore; sons, Grady "Frank" Moore (Debbie) of Moore, SC and Fred Moore (Denise) of Inman; two grandchildren, Trey Moore and J. T. Moore; sister-in-law, Betty Baldwin; two brothers-in-law, Bill Baldwin and Ray Brown; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Molly Laughter, Shirley Hipps, and Geraldine Brown, and a brother, Maury Moore. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM on Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Don McIntyre. Mr. Trey Moore will give the eulogy. Burial with military rites by the U.S. Navy will follow in Good Shepherd Memorial Park, 4164 Boiling Springs Rd., Boiling Springs, SC 29316. The family is at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
