Grady Melton Sr., 82, of Spartanburg, SC, died Sunday, June 28, 2015, at White Oak Manor. Born September 25, 1932, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late William Frank Melton and Annie Mae Moore Melton. Mr. Melton was a member of Southside Baptist Church and Long Oak Lodge #372. An avid hunter and fisherman, he loved the sports and always looked forward to the day he could fish again. He was formerly employed with Arkwright Mills and retired from Southern Railroad after 10 years of service. Surviving are his beloved wife of 62 years, Dorothy Ellen Lewis Melton; three children, Debra Genobles Brannon (JR) of Spartanburg, SC, Grady Melton Jr. of Lake Greenwood, SC; and Mark S. Melton of Roebuck, SC; two grandsons and five great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Genobles (Jessica) and their children, Abby, Anna, and JC of Cowpens, SC, and Matthew Genobles (Sonya) and their children, Avril and Levi of Inman, SC; and a sister, Dorothy "Dot" Melton Wofford of Spartanburg, SC. He was predeceased by two sisters, Elsie Melton Hines and Evelyn "Sis" Melton. Visitation will be 2:30-3:30 PM Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by Chaplain Chad Bowen. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel Mausoleum, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
