Grace Cobb Willingham, 92, of Spartanburg, died Thursday, June 3, 2010 at Windsor House. Born January 5, 1918 in Greenville County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Rev. James S. Cobb and Willie Sprouse Cobb and the wife of the late Bennett B. "B. B." Willingham. A 1939 graduate of Converse College, she retired from Spartanburg School District 7 with over 30 years of service, and worked with the Spartanburg County Baptist association for 11 ½ years. She was a member of Green Street Baptist Church and the Willie Cobb Sunday School Class. Mrs. Willingham was a former member of Southside Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher, a member of the Gleaners Sunday School Class and the Shadetree musicians. After living at Windsor for seven years, she was fondly known as "Ms. Windsor House". Survivors include a granddaughter, Michelle Willingham of Spartanburg; a grandson, Eddie Willingham and wife Tonya L. of Chesnee; two great-grandchildren, Nikole and Summer; a daughter-in-law, Marsha R. Willingham of Chesnee; a niece and nephew, Martha Forest and Kenneth Cobb; and her constant friends and companions, Marlene Mayfield, Charles and Kathy Bennett, and Rev. & Mrs. Everett Foster. She was predeceased by a son, Howard Keith Willingham; a brother, Rev. James H. Cobb; and a sister, Ruby Pearl Cobb. Visitation will be from 1:00-1:45 p.m. Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Tom Moore and the Rev. Everett Foster. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Green Street Baptist Church, 446 Brawley Street, Spartanburg, SC 29301.
