Gordon Towe,, Sr

Gordon L. Towe, Sr., 81, of Findlay, OH, and formerly of Spartanburg, SC, died Thursday, June 9, 2016 at his home. Born March 23, 1935, he was the son of the late Wallace S. and Hazel Clifford Towe. Gordon was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was retired from the construction business. He was a member of the N.R.A.; Masonic Lodge, and American Legion in Spartanburg, SC. Survivors include his wife, Mary Arnold Towe; sons, Scott Towe of NC; Gordon "Chip" Towe, Jr. of SC; daughter, Sherry DeGelder of MO; step sons, Jeff Sullivan of Fostoria, OH and Rodney Sullivan of Findlay, OH; step daughter, Pamela Blair of Findlay, OH; grandchildren, Nathan, Jacob, Hannah, Courtney, Madison, Justin and Easton; a great granddaughter, Anna; and a sister, Melody Glinn of SC. He was also predeceased by brothers, Samuel W. Towe and Thomas Towe. Visitation will be 11:00 AM - 12:45 PM Monday, June 13, 2016 at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel, 235 N. Church St., Spartanburg, SC 29306. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM at the chapel, conducted by the Rev. David Howell. Burial will follow in West Oakwood Cemetery, Oakwood Ave., Spartanburg, SC 29302, with military rites. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
