Glen Franklin Vick II, 72, of Spartanburg, SC, died Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at RoseCrest Healthcare Center. Born November 25, 1944, in Easley, SC, he was the son of the late Glen Franklin Vick and Carolyn Williams Vick Hendricks and stepson of Mr. B. L. Hendricks Jr. A 1963 graduate of Easley High School, Mr. Vick played on the 1962 State Championship Easley High School Green Wave football team. He received a BS Degree from Wofford College and MEd Degree from the University of South Carolina. He followed his former coach and mentor, W. A. Carr into the field of education. He served as head football coach at Evans Junior High School and as an assistant football coach to Coach Carr and was also an educator in Spartanburg School District 7 for 30 years. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Melanie Morrow Vick of the home; sister-in-law, Sherry Muir Morrow; niece, Allison Morrow Freeland and Michael and their children, Georgia and Wilson; and nephew, Thomas Wilson Morrow Jr. and Sarah and their children Charlotte and Nora, all of Greenville, SC. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 26, 2017, at Fernwood Baptist Church, by the Rev. Dr. Dan R. Vincent and the Rev. Stuart Jones. Visitation will follow in the church Family Life Center.
