Glen Hughey

Glen Earl Hughey, 73, of Wellford, SC, died Thursday, June 20, 2013, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born November 27, 1939, in Cherokee County, SC, he was the son of the late David Edward and Audrey Inez Wright Hughey, and husband of the late Willa Hendrix Hughey. A U. S. Army veteran, Mr. Hughey was retired from the U. S. Postal Service. He was a devout Christian and a member of The Church of Startex. He loved to play the guitar, loved to fish, and enjoyed fret work, especially working with Scandinavian clocks. He was a graduate of Chesnee High School. Survivors include his daughters, Cyndi Brock of Greer, SC, and Cathi Hughey of Wellford, SC; grandchildren, Charles Glen Brock and Rebecca Lynn Brock; brothers, Dennis Hughey and Wendell Hughey; and sisters, Elaine Clary and Marie Woody. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, June 23, 2013, in Fort Prince Memorial Gardens, by the Rev. James Borgman. Memorials may be made to Carolina Dialysis, 115 Interstate Park, Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family is at the home of Cyndi.
