Gladys Moyer

Gladys Louise Clary Moyer, 93, of Spartanburg, SC, passed away into eternal rest on Friday, March 7, 2014 at Summit Hills Assisted Living. Born November 19, 1920, in Spartanburg/Converse, she was the daughter of the late Monroe and Bessie Jean Green Clary and the wife of the late Eugene F. Moyer, Sr. A graduate of Boiling Springs High School and Cecil's Business School, she was also a member of the Beta Club. She was the oldest charter member of Cudd Memorial Baptist Church and a member of the Homemakers Sunday School Class. Surviving are her five children, Delores M. Henderson (Wayne, Sr.), Eugene F. Moyer, Jr. (Judy), Rebecca Moyer-Harmon (Barney), Steven R. Moyer and Jack D. Moyer (Karen); 10 grandchildren, Dr. Wayne Z. Henderson, Jr. (Sara), Britton Henderson (Kristi), Eugene F. Moyer, III (Erica), Ashley M. Hartley (Brandon), R. Bryan Moyer (Molly), David M. Harmon (fiancé, Adrienne), Benjamin Moyer, Elizabeth Moyer, Dillon Moyer and Lewis Moyer; 9 great-grandchildren, Lily H. Moyer, Lucy B. Moyer, Eugene F. Moyer, IV, Harrison W. Hartley, Annelise R. Hartley, Molly Kate Moyer, Olivia B. Moyer, Kara Henderson and Heidi Henderson; and her sisters, Mary C. Eubanks and Genelle C. Ellisor. She was predeceased by her brother, Ray O. Clary; and sister, Helen C. Lockman. Visitation will be 1:45-2:45 PM Sunday, March 9, 2014, at Cudd Memorial Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM, at the church, conducted by the Rev. Danny Garrett and the Rev. Ronnie Norris. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Memorials may be made to Cudd Memorial Baptist Church Building Improvement Fund, 1301 Boiling Springs Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29303.
