Gladys Malone

Gladys Easler Malone, 97, of Spartanburg, SC, loving wife of the late William Ashley Malone, passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, after a brief illness. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be greatly missed. Born February 3, 1921, in Spartanburg County, she was the daughter of the late Bonner L. Easler and Margaret Buna Petty Easler. A 1939 graduate of Spartanburg High School, Mrs. Malone was a recent member of Honea Path First Baptist Church and a longtime member of Peach Valley Baptist Church. She was known for her love of cooking, wonderful pound cakes, generous spirit, and contagious laughter. Survivors include her three children, Terry Malone (Vickey) of Dacusville, Barbara Malone of Greenville, and Billie Moody (Mike) of Honea Path; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Sarah Tolleson, Mattie Trexler, and Pat Hewitt (Ronnie); one brother, Harley Easler (Sissie); numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends. Visitation will be 10:00-10:45 AM Friday, March 23, 2018, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307, with funeral services following at 11:00 AM, officiated by Rev. Mike Moody, Rev. Ron Gaddy, and Rev. Greg Thompson. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel Mausoleum, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
