Gladys Hodge Cromer, 78, of Spartanburg, died Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at the Bethea Baptist Home in Darlington, SC. Born July 16, 1931, in Knoxville, TN, she was the daughter of the late Henry Clay and Lucy Burchett Hodge and the wife of the late Leland Ernest Cromer, Jr. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Spartanburg where she was active in Sunday School, Yesterday's Teens, and Young at Heart. Survivors include two sons, the Rev. Steven Clay Cromer and wife Geneva of Myrtle Beach, and Robert Blane Cromer and wife Rene of Madison, WI; a daughter, Karen Ann Cromer Huminski and husband Mark of Roebuck; six grandchildren, Clay and wife Callie Jo Cromer, Carlyle, Roy, and Jack Cromer, Daniel and Claire Huminski; and one great-grandchild, James Clay Cromer. Visitation will be 2:00-2:45 p.m. Saturday, May 8, 2010, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel conducted by the Rev. Bill Adams. Burial will be in Nazareth Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Bethea Baptist Home, 157 Home Avenue, Darlington, SC 29532.
