Gilmer Greer

Gilmer Calhoun Greer, 74, of Enoree, SC, died Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital-Spartanburg. Born February 22, 1941, in Pauline, SC, he was the son of the late James Glover Greer and Gladys Elizabeth Nelms Greer. Mr. Greer was a member of Golightly United Methodist Church and retired from Chapman Concrete and Grading. Surviving are his beloved wife of 51 years, Winnie Hayes Greer of the home; daughter, Jodi Greer Gilbert (Jeff) of Pauline, SC; sons, Jeffrey Greer of Hendersonville, NC, Jerry Greer (Melody) of Duncan, SC, and Joel Greer, Sr. (Margaret) of Wellford, SC; grandchildren, Tyler, Harlie, Kayla, Sierra, Taegan, Brian, Autumn, and Steve; great-grandson, Braxton; and sister, Joyce Bishop of Mayo, SC. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by six brothers, Calvin, Charles, Curtis, Bill, Jerry, and Leonard Greer. Visitation will be 7:00-9:00 PM Friday, July 17, 2015, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 18, 2015, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by the Rev. Dr. Louis D. Jamison. Burial at a later date will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
