Gertrude Lingerfelt

Gertrude Crossley Lingerfelt, 86, of Spartanburg, SC, died Saturday, April 11, 2015. Born November 30, 1928, in Ellenboro, NC, she was the daughter of the late W. E. and Pearl Sellars Crossley, and widow of Carl Ray Lingerfelt. Mrs. Lingerfelt was a former employee of Arkwright Mills and of the Freewill Baptist faith. Survivors include her children, Frances Fowler of Spartanburg, SC, Kathy Hinson of Claremont, NC, Harold Lingerfelt of Spartanburg, SC, and Ronnie Lingerfelt of Cowpens, SC; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughters, Linda Gibson and Janice McLaughlin; 3 brothers; 2 sisters; and 2 grandchildren. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Henry Coley. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
