Gerry Talbert Sr.

Gerry Lee Talbert, 79, of Moore, SC, died Wednesday, April 05, 2017, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born February 10, 1938 in Mooresville, NC, he was the son of the late Samuel Steve and Naomi Young Talbert. Mr. Talbert was a brick masonry contractor with "Talbert Masonry" for over 50 years, who loved to fish and play golf. He enjoyed teaching the Word of God and was active in prison ministry. Mr. Talbert was a member of North Spartanburg Church of God and was always faithful in studying his Bible. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Helen Stillwell Talbert; children, Gerry Talbert Jr. of Mill Springs, NC, Kimberly Renee Arthur of Boiling Springs, SC, Anthony Scott Talbert, Jeffery Alan Talbert, Cherub Brickney Talbert and Crystal Hope Talbert all of Moore, SC; grandchildren, Sonya, Chip, Justin and Janna and great-grandchildren, Sophie, Kaylee, Kylie, Amira and Michael. Visitation will be held 1:00-2:15 PM Saturday, April 8, 2017 at North Spartanburg Church of God, 2069 Chesnee Hwy., Spartanburg, SC 29303, with services following in the sanctuary at 2:30 PM, conducted by the Rev. Larry D. Flippo and the Rev. Sammy Autry. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. The family is at the home of Helen Talbert.
