Geraldine Hanson

Jeri Hanson went to her heavenly home to live with her Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, December 16, 2021. Born March 12, 1934 in Union, SC, she was the daughter of the late Fred James and Etta Harrison Martin.

Jeri was a kind lady with a loving spirit. She loved her family and friends with all her heart. Jeri retired from Wachovia after 35 years of service. She enjoyed reading, watching baseball games, birdwatching and traveling. In her later years, she loved worshiping as she listened to The Encouraging Word at First Baptist and In Touch Ministry with Dr. Charles Stanley.

Survivors include her husband of 25 years, Galen Peter Hanson, her daughters, Kim Tolleson (Wayne) of Spartanburg, SC and Lori Cloninger (Rick) of Rock Hill, SC, her step-daughters, Connie Hanson and Carol Westrick (Bill), grandchildren, Steven Tolleson (Baileigh), Clint Tolleson (Jean), Emily Westrick, Chris Cloninger, Ryan Cloninger (Meredith), Stephanie Blount (Gary), 13 great grandchildren, her siblings, Bobby Martin of Spartanburg, SC and Helen Young of Boiling Springs, SC, her best friends, Louise McCarley and Earline Page. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Judy West, Fred James Martin, Haskell Martin, and Teresa Seay.

A Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by The Rev. Dr. Tim Williams. Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Heritage Chapel Mausoleum, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 2624, Spartanburg, SC 29304 or to Samaritan’s Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
