Geraldine Bishop

Geraldine Reece Bishop, 87, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, October 4, 2016, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born February 26, 1929, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Horace Lee Reece and Iva Walker Reece and widow of Benjamin Harold Bishop. Mrs. Bishop was an avid gardener and member of Roebuck Baptist Church. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse with Spartanburg General Hospital and former employee of Bishop Furniture. Survivors include her son, Rick Bishop (Fran) of Lyman, SC; daughter, Lynn Phillips of Lake Bowen, SC; grandchildren, Shannon Jones, Shelley Spencer, and Christie Nelson; great-grandchildren, Emory Nelson, Liam Jones, Iva Jones, Chance Spencer, Chloe Spencer, and Cora Spencer; brother, Horace Lee Reece Jr. (Charlene) of Cowpens, SC; nephews, John Freeman Reece and Horace Lee Reece III; and niece, Iva Elizabeth Jenkins. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Gayle Reece. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday, October 10, 2016, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. Smoke Kanipe.
