Gerald Brannon, Jr.

Gerald "Rick" Lee Brannon, Jr., 70, of Gaffney, SC, died Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at his home. Born March 18, 1947, in Tryon, NC, he was the son of Betty Cothran Brannon of Gaffney, SC and the late Gerald Lee Brannon, Sr. A U. S. Army veteran, Mr. Brannon was the former owner of Brannon's Seafood Restaurant and was later involved with NASCAR Hospitality. He was a member of Gaffney Free Will Baptist Church. In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife of 47 years, Janis Bryant Brannon; children, Elayne Tate (Bryan) of Gaffney, SC and Tony Mabry (Jennifer) of Inman, SC; grandchildren, Bryanna Tate, Joshua Tate, Brandon Mabry, Lilliana Mabry, and Bradley Mabry; and brother, Garry Brannon of Gaffney, SC. Visitation will be 12 noon - 1:45 PM Friday, July 21, 2017, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Dennis Tolley and the Rev. Chuck Thornton. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
