Georgia Costalas Maheras, 94, passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2010, at Park Place. Born January 9, 1916, in Karyes, Laconia, Greece, she was the daughter of the late Nikolaos and Panayiota Kehoulas Costalas. She immigrated with her children to the United States on March 24, 1952, to join her husband, Konstantine S. (Gus) Maheras, who was living in Gastonia, NC. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Maheras was preceded in death by her husband, her brother, Kostas Costalas, and sisters, Dina Kolovos and Eleni Photopoulos. Mrs. Maheras is survived by her children, Mrs. Pitsa Diatzikis and her husband George of Concord, NC, Mr. Harry Maheras and his wife Tina of Cumming, GA, Ms. Elaine Maheras of Charlotte, NC, and Ms. Maria Tsoulos of Spartanburg; as well as her grandchildren, Van Diatzikis and his wife Voula, Anissa Manni and her husband Scott, Konstantine Maheras and his wife Pia, Gia Allen and her husband Robert, Jamie Lynch and her husband John, Jamie Tsoulos and Jenna Tsoulos. She was most proud of her great-grandchildren, Harrison Lynch, Dean Lynch, Niko Maheras, Alexi Maheras, Yiorgo Diatzikis, George Manni, Dylan Manni, Genevieve Manni, and Laina Allen. Visitation will be 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, March 26, 2010, at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, with a Trisagion Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 27, 2010, at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church conducted by the Rev. George F. Nayfa. Interment will follow in Gaston Memorial Park in Gastonia, NC, at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church Building Fund, P.
