George Pinckney Pryor, Jr., 82, of 241 West Wood Street, died Sunday, January 3, 2010, at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born August 23, 1927, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late George P. Pryor, Sr. and Inez Vera Beheler Pryor, and the husband of the late Betty Jean Porter Pryor. He was a self-employed painter, a Mason, and of the Baptist faith. Survivors include a daughter, Karen P. Vise and husband Kennon of Spartanburg; a son, Reggie Pryor and wife Ren of Inman; three sisters, Jane Smith, Peggy Koonce, and Becky Hall, all of Spartanburg; four brothers, Johnny Pryor and Jimmy Pryor, both of Spartanburg, Cecil Babb of Chicago, IL, and Bob Roberts of Idaho; grandchildren, Kennon P. Vise, Kristen V. Cooper, Reggie Pryor, Jr., and Chase Gibbs; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Donna Gibbs. Cryptside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at Good Shepherd Memorial Park, conducted by the Rev. Frank Bryant and the Rev. Glenn Rusher.
